I received a call from this number claiming they were from the IRS. I called gave them the number in which they left a message on and then they hung up. I called back and they asked me the same question. Scary, freaked me out. Not sure how to report these scam artists.
This person with an Indian accent claimed that he was from Microsoft Corporation claiming that he would fix bugs on a computer. Even though I have allowed him the access to my computer to leave it on and have allowed him to use the CCleaner to remove junk from my registry, I have managed to go to remove files five days back and remove the evidence. Now I am constantly removing any bugs after I have installed the CCleaner the next day (free version) since I have investigated that call came from San Antonio, TX at (210) 807-4287. Google Maps would not explain who or what this person is. I just hope someone would report to the federal authorities regarding this matter. From this point on, I never will allow anyone or any so-called telemarketer to obtain registries from this servers. I have never left any personal information behind on my laptop, I have already transferred all my financial, social security, and personal information to my flashdrive even before that person called.
You need to change any and all passwords, Also go download malware bytes and run it and your antivirus program (make sure its even turned on). You can find malware bytes over on filehippo, its free.
The only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face!
I can't believe you allowed some dude that called you up, that you don't know to allow access to your computer!! Better watch all your banking accounts, your credit files, health records and insurance if you have it. That's all he was after.
Why would you fall for this scam? How would some random guy know you have any issues with your computer? Do you know he still has access to this day? That's how the scam works...he loads software so he can watch what you do, watch your keystrokes, steal your passwords, etc....
That was a less than smart move. I sure hope you weren't ruined financially.
Nope. It's a number that's owned by scammers that perpetuate whatever scam is hot at the moment. Phone company should shut em down, however I hope they don't since I know the number & its blocked now from their scams
