I received a call from this number claiming they were from the IRS. I called gave them the number in which they left a message on and then they hung up. I called back and they asked me the same question. Scary, freaked me out. Not sure how to report these scam artists.
Left message. It was a computer voice saying they were the IRS Internal Revenue Services, yes plural Services. (We probably could use more than one but who pays for that?) Said this was final notice they are pursuing action against you. Total Phishing Scam!!!! If there is one thing the IRS can do is send notices, Always with reference numbers to specific records. not a vague "Pursuing action" with no other info.
The caller ID was: 210-807-4287, however with similar results already stated.
I received a phone message just like "beebee," saying they were the IRS and were going sue, with this being my final notice. The IRS does NOT make phone calls, therefore it's bogus. Out of curiosity, I did call back and the phone call is immediately answered, saying to leave a name and number. They don't even answer saying they are the IRS...because they are NOT! Once again, the IRS does NOT make phone calls!
Also, it the person has an Indian accent, then it's a debt collector. I use to receive calls from them before. Tell them you will be will contacting your attorney, therefore you need their name and number. That usually results in them hanging up.
I received a call from 729-595-6574 on my cellphone. The recorded message stated it was the IRS filing a lawsuit and instructed me to call 210-807-4287. For kicks and grins I called the 210#. It just kept ringing.
