I have incredible information that I'm sure 95% of you that have come in contact with these people don't.
212-400-7110, 212-268-8013, 212-594-8000, whatever number they may be calling from, it's all the same... World Model Talent, Model Talent Network, Model Crap America, they change their name and number every other day... first red flag.
Regardless of what they go by, they are located at 224 west 35th st New York NY 10001. Once someone says that address to you on the phone, RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION IMMEDIATELY. If a receptionist calls you and can't give you accurate information about why you should come in, that should be your second red flag.
Regardless, I became interested in this scam when I worked for a company that allowed regular people to post their reviews on general companies. (A review service, if you will). We accepted all reviews, negative or positive, as long as it wasn't offensive. One day I got a call from Brad West, from MTN, who was infuriated that we had "so many negative reviews" about his company, and that he called "so many other websites and got these reviews removed". The first thought to my head was, "well if SO MANY websites have people giving your company bad reviews, perhaps this is a problem on YOUR end?"
I talked to Brad for over 20 minutes and ended with no solution. I wouldn't take down the negative, non offensive, reviews. He was livid. I felt bad for the typical 18 year old aspiring model who was being scammed and ripped of her dreams by this scumbag.
I noticed more and more that where the negative reviews once were, all positive, phony reviews seemed to be overpowering. Brad clearly had his receptionist, or whoever works for him, write positive reviews on the site. How pathetic. I even saw some were copied and pasted multiple times! Like, at least if you're going to be fake, be realistic. It's horrible. I wish I could single handedly solve this problem but I can't. So spread the word. I talked to Brad first hand and I gotta say, it was nice telling him NO.
i got a call from one of the receptionists and on the message i could barely make out what her name was and she said that she was from W management...then silence for about 1 minute. it was like she held her hand over the phone cause you could hear when she hung up. i spoke to another guy who said that they were upstairs from the DMV on 34th st. sadly i did go in but it all sounded too phoney. he was claiming he made all these people famous and was showing [***] from online. then quickly rushed into saying that he could shoot my headshots today, but i refused and told him i'd think about it. he was so pushy and it was just too sketchy.
Everything you have read about World Talent on 35th. is absolutely true. The latest name they are using today is "West Casting" calling to set up an appointment 10:00AM the next day, claiming there is no charge for their service. Hopefully others will check this site before being taken in by this SCAM. I will be in touch with the Legal authority that will put an end to these Thieves. I have reported them many times to Craig's List but they do nothing substancial to end Brad's scam. Not one response back from Craig's, not one. They are in business to publish lists and have proved they do not give a damn about all of us. Just beware, pay no one for any Acting or related services. If they were successful, why would they be asking you for money???
