I wish I would've read these reviews before I went there. I called ahead and asked if there were any fees and they said "no". Different story when you get there. I was told to go to 224 W 35th St. Ste 216. The man I met named Brad seemed pretty shady. He showed me a stack of very dirty papers that listed television shows and movies. It looked like he found it in the garbage. I handed him my headshot and resume. He asked me if I had a current headshot. The one I gave him was 3 months old. When I mentioned that he said "well you need better prints. we could print them for you." First, you DO NOT need headshots and resumes to do extra work! Second, what talent agency in 2009 doesn't submit photos electronically? I called back and asked the secretary those questions but she didn't seem to have any answers. I believe this to be a SCAM.
they also called me today...212-268-9734 i responded to a craigslist add for a movie extra and i also set an appointment up for tomorrow at noon at 224 W 53rd. St between 7 and 8 ave. I was totally excited at first because i reeeeaaaallllyyy need some cash but then i started to wonder because this lady(definitely ghetto girl) was so hectic and didn't even let me ask one question. I am new to all this and craigslist so if someone has some helpful tips for me how i can see those scams right away i would be thankful!
Or maybe a web site with real jobs and not just fake ones :)
And thanks to everyone who put his story here, think thats very important!!
kissseessssss
Everything I've read here is exactly how it was because I was actually stupid enough to go there. I am so glad I googled the phone # that they gave me-212.268.8013 and the address-224 w 35th St Ste 216. Yes, going out the back door sent up a flag...but it was too late at that time.
Wow....Holly from WMT just called me from 212 268 8013 , said they want to see me right away . Can I come in tomorrow. 224 West 35th street suite 216.....I had answered a posting from Craigs List.
I didn't make an apt said I would call back to make one ...had to check my schedule.
Thank god for gut instinct and the internet. You have all just confirmed my suspicions and i thank you all no end. I was also called on 212 268 9734 and didn't quite catch what the woman said. When i asked her to repeat it she just carried on. Nevertheless I made an appointment (error). i was just about to leave to trek to midtown for the appointment but figured I would check this place out just in case. I would like to think I wouldn't have given them any money but desperate times...
