Everyone who had any contact with these scumbags should report them to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and also the Better Business Bureau (BBB). You can file the reports online. Because the amount of money they are scamming each person is relatively small, it is not enough to warrant the attention of law enforcement- the authorities have bigger fish to fry in NYC. But if enough people file complaints about them they will have to take some action. When filing a complaint for the BBB, make sure you do it under "Photographers R Us aka World Model Talent"- it is their old name, but they have a long history of complaints so its better to add to that. Lets shut these A-holes down!
Well I went today 9/22/09 and already had it in my mind that NOONE was getting a dime out of me! I know that in this business there are millions of scams for people like us. Brad asked for my headshot he looked at it and we talked about every picture on his wall and you can see him in every background of them. Meaning- He probably computer graphed his own pictures in them himself. He then talked about all that he can do for my career, before asking me for $50.00 for me to enter his website. Oh- and did I mention how FAST he was talking-like he was selling a pitch or something. Well anyway to end the conversation when I told him that I had NO money to give, he insisted on me leaving something down. I laughed to myself because no Ligit business is going to ask and beg for my $50.00 especially when the company is suppose to be TOP Notch! I left with him giving me an appointment for tomorrow. DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH!
That's exactly what happened to me, and they just called me now to "confirm" the appointment that he pushed me into making and I just wanted to get out of there. I'm ignoring them now. I didn't give them any money. And it totally looks like he photoshopped his pic into the backgrounds!!!!
