Caller, sounds like a person from India, asked for husband by name, then claims he is in the tech support dept and calling about a problem with Windows on my computer. Wants me to sit at the computer to verify his info. Scary SCAM!! He sounds like most tech support people. Wonder how many poor folks are falling for this.
Heavily accented man asked for my husband by name. When I asked who it was he said that he was calling about our computer. I told him we are registered on the Do Not Call lust and he laughed as I hung up. Scam. The number appears to belong to a legitimate business.
Two calls today. Called the number back. The business owner's recording said they had reported it and their local provider couldn't trace it and suggested that you contact your local provider and have them blocked.
My wife has received numerous calls from these scammers stating something is wrong with her computer. She nicely says, "no thank you" then hangs up. Today I spoke with the gentleman who called and played along with him for awhile as he had my wife type in basic commands to see system configuration, etc. Basic Microsoft commands. I finally told him I didn't trust him and wanted his name and number to call to verify he was really with Microsoft. He gave me a bogus number (1-800-102-1100) and said his name was Bev Henry (another joke). This number and the supposed business is suspect altogether with up to six businesses at this same location...all with 1-5 employees...total scam! He identified himself with Microsoft but the caller ID said L. Hillary LCSW.
