I just turned off the ringers on all my phones a few years ago. Almost of these scammers don’t leave a message and when I hear someone leaving a message is the only time I know there’s an incoming call.
Been keeping a list of “Missed calls” from my caller ID for a while now. I’m up to 405 crap calls so for this year with a month and a half to go. It just thrills me to know that the FTC is doing such a good job in eradicating these scumbags.
Got a call from Isein Merdjam 212-662-9124 and having caller id did not answer. When the answering machine picked up, whoever hung up. I tried looking up information and do not find anything....I am on national and state do not call registery. Before getting this call, I had just read locally where people were getting calls that wanted to send you a check and after you deposited it, you only needed to send them so much of that money. Scam, scam, scam....they keep coming up with so many ways to try to get individual's credit card number, etc.
Yep. Same Scum, different number. The beauty part is, We've turned the phone ringer down and close the office door so the ringing won't wake us up and we don't have to shell out hard-earned money for a call blocker that, face it, they'll learn to get around eventually. And when we're up, we never answer callers with blocked ID. Friends and legitimate businesses will not block their numbers. And if the caller can't--or WON'T--leave a message, too friggin' bad! REAL friends don't think they're too important to talk to a machine! The only AQUAINTENCES who MUST speak to a live person are time and energy vampires! Businesses who won't are SCAM SCUM!
"Senior Alert" I get all kinds of scam calls since turning 65. They buy a list of senior phone # and try to scare you into buying something. I find it very upsetting that most are targeting seniors because they think they are not as smart as the general population and easier to scam.
I don't know why there is not a "cam" option on the list below.
Got call from CID 212-662-9124 (Isein Merdjan) 212:06 PDT 10/29/2014. Left no message on answering machine but others above have noted it's a Med-Alert scam targeting seniors. Address of phone number is noted above as 217 W 106St NYC which puts it between Broadway and Amsterdam Ave. I'm beginning to suspect an organized ring running this scam since I continually get messages for Med-Alert, Consumer Services (Credit Card), or Solar Panels from area codes throughout the USA. I add them to the call blocker list but that is rapidly being saturated! Look like I'll have to block area codes instead of single numbers.
