Make sure you have your passport ready since you will need to fly to a country overseas. Of course once there if you are caught you are then subject to their laws. As to threatening them, they know it is a hollow threat and they have heard it all.
Called from unknown # stating i was to be arrested for some such reason. never gave a name for who was in legal trouble at my home or their credentials. only a call back number 213-401-2952. most definitely a scam.
Called twice this morning and left the message if I don't call them back I will be turned over to the court and face serious consequences and will have to face a magistrate judge. He had a slight accent, maybe from India. He did not ask for us by name just this scary message. People like this are just disgraceful I don't know how they live with themselves hurting people everyday.
total scam! don't answer and don't call back! totally try to use scare tactics to get info out of you - just pathetic. "We have filed legal documents against you..." So frustrating how they can get away with this!
He did not ask for a specific person and called on a Saturday. His message made no sense because he made it sound like we would be in contempt of court if we didn't call back. That makes no sense. You can't be subject to any court proceedings without being served. I also looked up the name given - Steve Modern - on the California Bar's website (http://members.calbar.ca.gov) and no one with that name exists. I am going to report the call to the Fraud Section of the LAPD tomorrow. I encourage everyone on this forum to do the same. Their number is 213-486-6630 and they are open from 7:00am to 4:30pm.
