Make sure you have your passport ready since you will need to fly to a country overseas. Of course once there if you are caught you are then subject to their laws. As to threatening them, they know it is a hollow threat and they have heard it all.
Received a call from gentleman with heavy accent. He said he was "Steve Modern (?)" calling regarding an enforcement action executed by U.S. Treasury "intending your serious attention. [sic]" He said failure to call back would be " an intentional 2nd attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense." While he gives the 213 #, the caller id shows "215-734-0229". The message repeats itself 3 times.
We received the call also. Saying we were going to go before a grand jury unless we called them back and took care of the legal matters. This was a very serious offense and there was no way out of it. Accent of the person calling. Total scam. I am going to report it to local law enforcement.
We received our threat on 08/28/14, requiring us to appear before a Federal Magistrate and/or Grand Jury trial if we didn't call back. Our caller ID lists the calling number as 215-734-0229.
