I started getting calls today Sunday Nov 29 2009 It was a message saying "We wish you and your student had a nice Thanksgiving weekend. we hope to see your child tomorrow"(then the automated message continues) "to repeat this message press 1" (so I did press 1) now I'm worried about it. Got 2 calls so far.
I have been getting calls everyday from 213-415-0018 advising me that my 9th grade daughter was late for class or that she got a D on her test. She's not my daughter! The message left a school name so i googled the name and called the school to complain. I gave them my phone number and they advised that I won't get anymore calls! Hopefully it works!
I received several messages from this number saying when school was out for the holidays, etc. After talking with the board of education several times (the message identified themselves), the technology person called me. The number is based out of Los Angeles and is contracted with the school system to leave messages when numbers are inserted. My number happened to be linked to someone with a different area code.The person apologized and said they were trying to work on problems. Hopefully, this helps you in finding the source.
