I started getting calls today Sunday Nov 29 2009 It was a message saying "We wish you and your student had a nice Thanksgiving weekend. we hope to see your child tomorrow"(then the automated message continues) "to repeat this message press 1" (so I did press 1) now I'm worried about it. Got 2 calls so far.
These prerecorded messages have nothing to do with cell phone services or phone companies nor are they telemarketers! You dont need to go through the hassle of calling 800 numbers or companies to get your number off the calling list. If you dont have a child in school and these messages dont apply to you simply listen to one of the messages get the name of the school, locate the school or number of the school. Go down to the school or simply call them and explain the situation they will take your number off the calling list. If you have a child in school and just think these messages are annoying i recommend keeping this service so that you may be up to date with whats going on with your child and their school/schooling.
If you are receiving numerous calls from this number in one day or even one week and you have a child/ren who attend the school calling you and leaving the messages i recommend answering, checking all messages and or calling the school immediately as this could be very important. Your child may have ditched, come in late or hasent shown up for school in a while. It also could be that he or she has gotten into trouble suspended or even expelled.
I'm not sure this is the case for us; our "automated"number is completely different. We DO receive calls from time to time, which does makes sense. This number does NOT make sense. We have blocked it so it only rings once. If you have that capability it saves some frustration. Good Luck!
