I started getting calls today Sunday Nov 29 2009 It was a message saying "We wish you and your student had a nice Thanksgiving weekend. we hope to see your child tomorrow"(then the automated message continues) "to repeat this message press 1" (so I did press 1) now I'm worried about it. Got 2 calls so far.
This is extremely annoying! I get calls from this number all the time, 4 calls just 2 days ago. I don't speak Spanish and I don't have any children. It always goes to my voicemail and I have to use my cell minutes to listen to and erase the stupid messages. How did they even get my cell phone number? I've only had this number a few months.
I had a few missed calls from 213-412-1170 & finally picked up the call. It was a recording from a High School counselor inviting parents to a parent night for sophmores & juniors regarding graduation requirements for our high school.
Here's how do deal with this... these numbers are owned by a company name Teleparent. I had to call the telco, LA Unified and two auto dial companies to track this down. It was a major pain, so hope this helps:
