I started getting calls today Sunday Nov 29 2009 It was a message saying "We wish you and your student had a nice Thanksgiving weekend. we hope to see your child tomorrow"(then the automated message continues) "to repeat this message press 1" (so I did press 1) now I'm worried about it. Got 2 calls so far.
We have been getting these calls on our daughter's phone for over a year now. We get the call from some school in Inglewood, CA stating "Your child was not present today... blah blah blah.... ". We called 1-800-688-6077 and told them we would file a police report for harassment if the calls did not cease. This probably won't be the only time we call and complain, but hopefully the calls will stop.
I've been getting calls every week night for months informing me about my tardy or absent 11th grade male. I don't have one. I'd tried contacting the school bu they are hiding behind layers of automated phone systems.
This was my first call today on my cell phone but I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer it, but I didn't get a voice mail either. I've received calls from my kids school before but they usually come through my home number. I'm glad the school is using this system to notify parents of important upcoming events and such, the messages keep busy parents informed of classroom and school activities. Of course with any new system there's going to be some kinks that need to be ironed out...sorry to those who's numbers should not be receiving these messages. I'm glad I found this website very helpful :)
Received the call tonight. They left a voice mail. It was Paypam which is the online company that handles my kids hot lunch account informing me that my son was $-.55 cents in his account and to replenish it.
