Satan never sleeps!! Received yet another call from these evil doers out preying upon whomever gives them a moment! This time the call came in under the alias of Tech Plaza # (214)446-4608. Man with an Indian accent claimed he was from Windows support and was calling me due to the error messages he (they) have received from my computer. These kind of calls are coming in with more frequency!! Something needs to be done! What ever happened to the "Do Not Call List"? I'm sure that's only for legit company's and where this IS a scam it doesn't apply. Nevertheless, I'm tired of my privacy being invaded by these jerks who will relentlessly keep calling ...and at all hours!
since the government cant seem to help us prevent these annoying calls or just don't wanna be bothered with them , maybe we should all get together and buy some flying carpets for these sob"s, or camels to get rid of these SCUMBAG LOWLIFES
Just got a call from same number claiming a problem with my computer. I told the gentleman I think he is trying to scam me and no thanks. He told me to f--k myself twice. That only confirms his intentions were up to no good.
Another day, another call from 214-446-4608. I answered, and once again, a heavy foreign accent, this time a woman. Asked her who was calling; Tech Plaza was the response and she went into the song and dance about getting red and yellow notices about junk files being downloaded on my computer. I said I had no need for their services, and when she continued with her speil, I told her that my phone was on the Do Not Call list, to take my # off their list, and that If I received one more call I was going to report them and they would have a large fine. I finally had to hang up, and an determined to report them, whether or not it makes a difference.
I just got the call. Everything happened as all the earlier comments described. As a hobby, I like to play along with these folks just to see what the scam is. I played dumb, and dutifully typed in all the commands as instructed. Indeed, as they anticipated, there were dozens of errors and warnings under Computer Management/System Tools/Event Viewer/Windows Logs/Application. I'm virtually certain these are innocuous and every PC has them. Then they told me to Run the command: iexplore www.tplaza.info. I wasn't about to do that, since that would take me to their website, which could download malware to my PC. At this point, I told them I wasn't stupid enough to visit that website, that they were running a scam, and that I was going to report them to the Department of Justice. They actually argued with me that it wasn't a scam. I asked them how they wre able to tie my phone number to the alleged malware on my computer and they gave me an incomprehensible answer. I thanked them for calling, wished them a nice day, and told them to expect a lawsuit from the Justice Department.
