same thing happened to me today. Told them I was at work (I was) yet they kept asking whether I had my personal home computer in front of me, even after I said I didn't. when I asked for the company name, they did tell me, but I couldn't understand what either the rep or supervisor was saying... I told them this, that I couldn't understand their English, but they insisted on repeating it over and over again. They didn't quit even after I asked themt o stop and listen to me, and I asked whether they understood English or not. Asked where they were located, and I think they said "Europe City" or something like that. Hung up on them when they wouldn't quit even after I told them a dozen times that I wasn't interested.
Said they were from the Microsoft Windows Service Center and were calling because they were getting messages from my computer indicating that it was infected with a virus. They asked me if I was sitting in front of my computer and I said no I was in the bed sleeping. They asked me to get up and go turn it on so they could give me some information to type in. When i asked for a call-back number in case we got disconnected, they gave me 646-810-6453. I hung up on them and they called me back from 215-645-9874. My son is a computer tech so I know all about this scam and that Microsoft would not be calling me directly. Don't fall for their scam.
Called me AGAIN today, I've told them in the past I don't have Microsoft, they keep calling - today I told him to hang on the police were tracing the call - he started yelling obscenities at me and told me I wasted his time! Somebody get rid of these idiots!
Called wanting to know if I had a computer. First clue! I told him I don't accept spam calls and hung up, immediately blocked the number. I'm sick of calls pretending to be Microsoft and saying I have a problem on my computer. I'll block every last one of them and report them too! My sister gets them and she's never even owned a computer!
I received a call from this number by a man with a thick foreign accent stating that my Microsoft has detected a virus os someone hacking and they are calling to check it out. I told him this is a scam and to take my number of his list and to never call back. He was speaking as I hung up on him. The number showed up on my caller ID 35 minutes later but I did not answer and they did not leave a message.
