I've got a call from this number as well, they have been asking questions about my restaurant. what kind of food we serve and if we have a dine in and if it was casual or fine dining restaurant? then i stopped the person and asked why he was asking so many questions and he explained that they were calling on behalf of a mapping company called NAVTEQ and they update all these details on their GPS navigators. I have asked what does this has to do anything with what type of restaurant i had? the person told me that they classify restaurants as take away restaurants, fast food centers and dining restaurants. so i was convinced by his explanation and visited www.navteq.com. This company provides services for car navigation systems to mobile phone GPS systems.
I got one a few weeks ago by a man asking if I was the owner of Mary Kay. I told him no and he hung up. I do purchase Mary Kay so I thought it was kind of weird. I got the call again today and a woman with a thick accent asked me if I was the business owner of Mary Kay and she gave me my (correct)address. I denied it and she apologized for bothering me and hung up. How are these weirdos getting our info and why are they calling to verify???
The woman who called me asked if I sell knitting supplies. When I said no, she asked if my number was for a business my mother ran years ago (For some reason, my number was mistakenly attached to her business name on some telemarketer's list. It got spread around from there.) I told the caller she had the wrong number.
I got a call from GPS Company asking for the business which was closed years ago, I told them to remove the number. They assured me that the number would be removed from the business list. Just want to say thanks that I am not getting unnecessary calls from that day…..
