My caller said he was from "WINDOWS Support" not Microsoft. There is a difference. Microsoft is trademarked, copyrighted etc. windows is not and can't be. Anyone can say they work for windows, Microsoft is a different story.
He got all huffy when I called hin a "pakistani scammer". In retrospect his English was so good he is probably Filippino.
I've repeatedly gotten calls from folks, claiming to be from microsoft tech support (at least once a day for the past couple of weeks. Usually when I tell them to remove me from their list, they just hang up. Today, they called and gave the name of some woman who owned our # before us (over 4 years ago.) I told him his info is out of date and to take me off his list. The caller immediately started swearing at me, (calling me a b-tch, telling me to shut up, and that he's going to "shove his d*ck down my throat and I need to suck it, etc, etc.) Unbelievable. How is it possible these guys haven't been stopped yet?
"name unavailable" on the caller ID. This is pure scam. My computer doesn't download Microsoft updates because, well, I have a MAC, and I still get these calls from this and other spoofed numbers. Beware, these scammers are beginning to post on these sites posing as Microsoft techs. Just keep posting. It's pretty easy to tell when a scammer posts.
What Smoke Signals said. & The man w the East Indian accent actually agrued w me about how he could "save my computer" despite the fact I haven't now & never have had a Micro-sloth or Win-doze PC in my possession but he insisted I was at risk & needed the service. I told him I was on the DNC list but that didn't matter. I did threaten & probably will report them to the Internet Fraud peeps & our state's attorney general as the CID indicated a 218 area code which is the northern section of our state (how embarrassing). I hope no one gets taken by these scamming mofos.
The person at 218-520-4673 claimed he was from Microsoft and said he was detecting a computer problem. When I told him I did not have an active computer he called me a liar and told me I was going to Hell for lying to him. He told me that since I chose to lie to him he was going to send out a signal to my computer that would permanently disable it. He spoke with a heavy Middle East accent. This phone number (and every phone number in this office) should be disabled. The call came in from the Duluth, MN area.
