I also got a call from this number saying it was an IRS senior representative( Indian with terrible English) saying I would be arrested in 30 minutes if I did not pay $6789 immediately and my home would be taken and my license and I would go to prison for 5 years. Then he asked if I committed this crime on purpose or accident and to acknowledge on a recording that I did. This was all before asking me my name! Then he wanted my SS#! No way! So I asked to speak to the head of the operation and he just changed his voice! He said he was from Washington, D.C. but couldn't put an American on the phone. When I asked to speak to an American he told me he was going to google and kill me! Then he uttered out some aha ala ala crap and hung up. I called back and the same person answers every time. I reported them to the IRS scam line. I feel like the FBI should check into this! This might be a terrorist trying to get money.
It is very likely scams like this are one of the ways terrorist organizations fund their operations. Unfortunately, the calls originate in foreign countries making it difficult to trace where they are calling from and even harder to stop it.
