This scammer calls numbers on the national do not call registry in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. They further violate the TCPA by not having an operator on the line when the phone is answered, and still further violate the TCPA by playing a recorded message without an operator on the line. This scammer's recording tells you that this is your second (false, they call much more than that) and final (also false, as they keep calling) notice to lower your interest and payments on your credit card debt. They further violate the TCPA by refusing to provide a phone number or physical address when asked, demonstrating that this is a scam, if the recording hadn't made that absolutely clear. Do not provide this scammer any personal or financial information.
I am so tired of these calls. They come almost every day. I have tried to get more information from them so I can report them to the FCC. As soon as I ask for more information, they hang up. It is SO irritating. I have also asked to be removed from their marketing list and they hang up too. These people are rude and I wish something could be done about them. If you don't pick up, they leave a message anyway.
The enemy is your phone company. They get alot more $$ from these people than they do from people like us. speak up and urge the government to take control of our own telecoms! (oh wait thats the problem, federal protection of monopolistic business practices). Take Control Of your Government!
Called my cell today for the first time today. They call my home phone numerous times a week but I never answer now. I answered a couple of times and punched the number to be removed from their calling list but it did not work. I am going to report them on the Do Not Call site, but I ain't holding my breath because so far that site has been next to useless.
