Called and wanted to know the make and year of my latest vehicle I told them it was a 1990 Toyota (I never owned a Toyota) and they wanted to extend the warranty on it what a scam !!!!!
I told them I was not interested but had a friend that was looking to extend theirs Mike Cox and gave them his phone number he is the attorney general for the State of Michigan.
I hope they call them!!!!!
It showed as Unknown Name/Unknown Number on my phone. It was a real person calling from "Warranty Services" trying to get me to extend the warranty on my car. I said no thank you and please take my name and number off the list. She took on an attitude then demanded "why didn't I want to extend my warranty? Did I want to just pay for the cost of repairs, which would be over $125-$300 in [she named my city]?" I told her that right now we're strapped for cash and if we want an extended warranty, we'll shop around for one. We don't want to be solicited. And I told her the reason I asked to be taken off the list is because I'm expecting to deliver a new baby in the next week and I'm trying to cut down on unwanted calls. Then she said "Well big f**cking deal bi^@h!" I was shocked silent for a moment. I heard her chuckling to herself. I asked her to repeat the full name of her company. She laughed and said "Whatever!" and hung up on me. I'm livid. I can't believe someone would call and harrass me that way. If anyone knows of some way I can register an official complaint about this, please post it.
Same guys as mentioned above call me every day, sometimes twice a day. I haven't been able to get rid of them either. However, I have decided from now on I will have fun at their expense. Most of the people calling aren't the brightest bulbs. I just play along with them and keep them on the phone as long as possible. We always start talking price -- if I offer cash, they pass me to a manager that will make an even better deal. If I tell them I want to finance, they pass me to their financing group. I take as much time as I can negotiating with them as I can. Sometimes I put them on hold while I go check my odometer and look for my Vin number. I never come back to the phone. The guy on put on hold today actually held for about 15 min. He called me back and I told him someone had just stolen my car! He said that was okay and proceded to ask for my credit card number. After I gave him two invalid numbers, he asked if I was messing with him.
This really isn't such a bad deal -- it's free entertainment. Try it!
