Called and wanted to know the make and year of my latest vehicle I told them it was a 1990 Toyota (I never owned a Toyota) and they wanted to extend the warranty on it what a scam !!!!!
I told them I was not interested but had a friend that was looking to extend theirs Mike Cox and gave them his phone number he is the attorney general for the State of Michigan.
I hope they call them!!!!!
Wow, interesting technique for a cold call sales pitch. The man called me "stupid" when I asked which car he was trying to sell an extended warranty (I have more then one) and then he hung up.
It's a voice activated recording. If you answer and don't say anything, nothing happens and the call disconnects. If you make any noise (i.e., clear your throat, hum, speak) a recording comes on telling you they are trying to reach you regarding a soon to expire auto warranty. Press 1 to connect to an agent, 2 to close the file. Do not press anything. Any activity on the call will show them someone is on the other end and the number is valid. Go to your state Do Not Call registry and file a complaint against the number. If you have a phone number blocker with your phone service, add the number to it. They'll get a recording that you don't accept calls from them.
I have no clue as to why this scammer would be calling me when I'm on
the state & Federal DO NOT CALL ME FOR ANY REASON LIST.
Sometimes there is no sound other than a click when I answer and
sometimes I can get a live 'agent' so I can inform them that my car is
still 30 years old and no longer needs a warranty.
Now I'm ready to tell them my Attorney General's info so he can explain
why my old car is too old for a warranty and the definition of
DO NOT CALL LIST.
