I received this hang up 11:50 am cst , but we have another phone that does not have ID on it and have gotten SEVERAL calls where they ask your name, and then go on to say there is a problem with our computer or microsoft something or other.... usually a foreign accent. Yesterday my husband gave me the phone and said it was for ME.... didnt know WHY he didnt say WHO it was...it was because it was one of those idiots, AGAIN, as soon as he said the same old thing again, I said remove us from your calling list, and he said to me SHUT UP! I said shut up back and he did it back to me ! ! ! HOW IGNORANT AND RUDE! next time we will say please hold so I can have my wife/husband help you.... and then just leave the phone off the hook.... I BELIEVE this would keep them from making another call till we hung up on our end ? ? ? maybe I am wrong...all in all I / WE are sick of this stuff ! thanks for posting all the comments from folks like us. Apppreciate it !
Very similar experiences with all of the above comments. 1st experience: Wife gets a call on her cell phone early in the morning asking for me, saying there's some problem with my computer. 2nd: I get a call on my cell phone approximately a week later from a guy with an Indian accent, that I had trouble understanding mainly due to the background noise, from him speaking too fast, and due to his unprofessional manner, saying he's from Cactus Tech Support who is a sub to Windows and there's a problem with my computer that he needed fix. Knowing it was a scam, I tried to play along just to waste his time and disrupt his scam progress for the day. I tried giving him some fake computer numbers but I don't think he heard me. Then I asked if he worked for Microsoft and he vehemently replied "NO, Windows!". I asked how he got my information and he apparently got it from an email address that I rarely use. But it seems he knew my name and cell number, not sure how. I think he said his name was Jack Smith, but I really had a hard time understanding. He's (they) tried calling at least three more times since.
received a call from this number yesterday while at work.female with an indian accent called me by name and told me they (didn't understand what she said company name was) had detected that i was about to have trouble with my computer and could i get on line so they could guide me through the steps i needed to do to prevent a failure.told her i was at work not home.she asked me what would be a good time to call again. i told her and they have called a couple of times since.i didn't fall off the turnip truck last week so i have ignored their calls.
Today I got the same call from this number. The guy with indian accent were saying that he is Microsoft Windows.it is scam . Question :I would like to know that how he got my name and number
I have repeatedly been receiving calls from this number with various people claiming that they are from Microsoft Technical Center" and that I have a virus on my computer. I do tech support for a living and as soon as I tell them this, they hang up. It's a scam, people. Don't fall for it. Please shut this number down. I'm getting so frustrated with the calls. I'm on the Do Not Call Registry, but I'm still getting these things.
