I received this hang up 11:50 am cst , but we have another phone that does not have ID on it and have gotten SEVERAL calls where they ask your name, and then go on to say there is a problem with our computer or microsoft something or other.... usually a foreign accent. Yesterday my husband gave me the phone and said it was for ME.... didnt know WHY he didnt say WHO it was...it was because it was one of those idiots, AGAIN, as soon as he said the same old thing again, I said remove us from your calling list, and he said to me SHUT UP! I said shut up back and he did it back to me ! ! ! HOW IGNORANT AND RUDE! next time we will say please hold so I can have my wife/husband help you.... and then just leave the phone off the hook.... I BELIEVE this would keep them from making another call till we hung up on our end ? ? ? maybe I am wrong...all in all I / WE are sick of this stuff ! thanks for posting all the comments from folks like us. I've been called from this number so many times. A lot before Christmas (how convenient) some Indian dude claims I have illegal stuff on my computer, that if I pay them they can take it all off for me so I don't get prosecuted.(how scripted)I told him I don't have a computer. He asks "how do you check your email?" I told him on my phone and iPad.....he hung up. Calling back does nothing you just get disconnected.
I received call at 2 PM EST to an old phone number not on any current accounts. no message. scam.
I did get a computer message last year that locked up my screen and wouldn't let me shut down the computer. There was a "Microsoft" phone number in the message to call. I never called. I posted about this last year. I also lost computer data twice last year. Also, one of my doctors was called at home about his computer last year and told to pay $300 to fix. He reinstalled everything and didn't pay them.
I am getting lots of calls from numbers I don't recognize - all different area codes. If I answer, they just hang up so I can't figure what they are up to. If I call back, it either just beeps and disconnects or else goes to the same recording about 'if you want to be removed' - same message, lots of different area codes.
