Definitely the same group. Corporate Acquisitions from Colorado. They use GotVMail.com which provides local numbers around the country. Makes them look like they are from Western Mass. Call the number and you will get a voice message and a long list of voice mail boxes for all the people at Corporate Acquisitions.
Voicemail message from man (recorded man, no doubt) claiming to be Rick Webber, Corporate Acquisitions Group, Chicago. He claimed, "We are a buyer's mandate search firm . . . we have a top-level buyer interested in buying a firm in your sector." I was to call him back at ext 701, and leave a message if he did not answer.
I could not tell if he was a guy or a recording, because it sounded very conversational; but I thought it sounded fishy that he said "in your sector" ... seeming not to know what sector our business is actually in. Hmmm. Seems to me that if there was a buyer, he might actually know what type of business the buyer wanted to purchase.
The caller states we are to call 312-242-3640, ext 701.
Rich Webber, who entered his info here (1/10/08) and claims that "some criminal" is using his company name, told us to call him at 303-792-2010. He says he is the legitimate Rick Webber, of CAG, an LLC based in Colorado.
HOWEVER, BOTH of these phone numbers ring to the SAME "company" ... the same outgoing voicemail message with the same female airhead voice. On both phone numbers, entering extension 701 brings you to an outgoing voicemail message from Rick Webber. He promised to call back after I leave certain information (my business name; my name; our phone number; state in which our business is located).
I think I'll call and talk to him tomorrow ... he sounds like a real nice guy.
His 1/10 entry here makes me think he believes he is so smart he can chat here with impunity. Interesting.
Unfortunately, the HONEST one who posted on this website is the SAME EXACT PERSON as the dishonest one who is calling all of us. See my second post 1/10/08.
303-792-2010, the number provided 1/10/08 on this site, is ALSO being reported separately on this site as a scam phone solicitation number. Check it out by typing it into the Search Phone Number box at the right. Since there is very little activity there, I assume this is Rick Webber's LATEST phone number.
