Definitely the same group. Corporate Acquisitions from Colorado. They use GotVMail.com which provides local numbers around the country. Makes them look like they are from Western Mass. Call the number and you will get a voice message and a long list of voice mail boxes for all the people at Corporate Acquisitions.
I just reported this guy/company/crook to the National Do Not Call Registry. If enough people do that, the NDNCR MIGHT investigate and proceed with legal action.
I had a voicemail call on my phone from Rick Weber left at 11:41pm from Corporate Acquisitions Group, Chicago. The message was identical to those reported by everyone else. I do own a small business and have been away dealing with a family emergency so I imagined that someone might have contacted them for information about my business. I decided to research the company before calling extension 701. Glad I did. I don't usually fall for scams, but this one would have sucked me in...
I can't believe that there would be no point to the call. I wish I knew how these people were benefiting from leaving these messages. Then getting a stack of return call. The Rick Weber # above will get you to a secretary that will transfer you into that bunk voicemail system on the number. Very fishy. They are probably just soliciting for a commission on sales. IF anyone knows of any harm beyond the phone call please post.
Just finished listening to two messages from sir rick weber on each of my business phones. I just want to thank y'all for taking a minute to write something here about your experiences! Seriously, I hope no one has fallen for this load of crap! Peace!
This guy benefitsbuy sucking in people that want or need to sell their business. He will ask for an up-front fee (about $3000 from what I've heard) to "value" your business for you. He then tries to sell your company for you. Here's the real kicker and where I was involved. I was interested in buying one of these businesses and asked for the financials, etc. The company was asking a tremendous amount over what it was worth. Old tricky Rick over-values the business and tries to pass it off as in great shape. If it sells, he gets a portion. If it doesn't, he still made $3000 up front for his efforts. When I questioned him he responded just like any other crook that gets caught. I received an email full of "f#$k you". The guy is a low-life crook trying to prey on business owners that need to sell their businesses quickly.
