Definitely the same group. Corporate Acquisitions from Colorado. They use GotVMail.com which provides local numbers around the country. Makes them look like they are from Western Mass. Call the number and you will get a voice message and a long list of voice mail boxes for all the people at Corporate Acquisitions.
Got one of these on my callnotes last night. Usually I ignore these types of calls, but coincidentally I am in the process of marketing my business for sale. This website saved me from wasting my time. Thanks!
When there is nary a hint at ANY specific information (your name, your company, sector, referral, time that the call was placed, ANYTHING that would be indicative of a live or specific call), you can be fairly certain that it is a recording, no matter how conversational the voice sounds.
The company website appears to be and is likely legitimate, it's just their solicitation approach that concerns many. I'm sure they get their share of hits. I have thought about selling so I made the effort to call back, only to get the same response as everyone else, it appears. I will try during the business day to see if there is a live person on staff. I would bet it's a service selling business valuations.
Note that there are more than one phone numbers for this company. One is a Denver number, the other a Chicago number. This can easily be done with today's technology (Voice over Internet Protocol a/k/a VoIP). Vonage is one such company that can provide mulitple city appearances at the same location. If they really went to the trouble of using a line with a specific area code to contact a would-be customer with the same area code, they could probably get more return calls. If for no other reason than the "local call" factor would appear to legitimize things.
Got a call last night... went online...saw the group in denver ... plugged in the number and found these posts... wasnt in the market to sell but found this info valuable...
