Definitely the same group. Corporate Acquisitions from Colorado. They use GotVMail.com which provides local numbers around the country. Makes them look like they are from Western Mass. Call the number and you will get a voice message and a long list of voice mail boxes for all the people at Corporate Acquisitions.
303-792-2010, the number provided (supposedly by the REAL Rick Webber) on 1/10/08 on this site, is ALSO being reported separately on this site as a scam phone solicitation number. Check it out by typing it into the Search Phone Number box at the right. Since there is very little activity there, I assume this is Rick Webber's LATEST phone number.
I was doing some investigation on Rick Webber after an unfortunate business run-in. I was trying to acquire a business and initiated the contact with Corporate Acquisitions Group. Totally a scam. They over-value companies and try to sell them to unsuspecting or under-educated individuals. When I said I wasn't interested I received an email full of foul language. Typical response from a scam artist that gets caught.
Got a call last night in my answering machine from the already infamous Mr. Weber from Corporate Acquisitions Group. Advice to everybody: if you did not publicize that your business is for sale and did not initiate the call chances are is a scam. My business does not deal with the public and the corporations I deal with are open about their acquisition plans. I suspected seriously of indiscriminate internet screening by these guys. I was not planning to call Mr. Weber but I started doing my homework and see who else got hit. Good luck everybody!!!
Totally a phishing scam. I got two identical messages back to back on my answering machine. Not hard to pick up on the fact that they are robocalls when the message sounds identical twice in a row. My business is not for sale and never has been for sale, so he's obviously just picking any companies at random (hence why he doesn't specify what kind of business you're in on his message, but instead talks only in generalities) and just seeing if anyone is curious enough (or frankly stupid enough) to bite on his little scheme. I wish the FTC would nail scumbags like these.
