Microsoft Windows Tech Support. Calls claimed to be Microsoft employees, with employee#'s, and claiming to know license# etc. SCAM-SCAM-SCAM!! This scam has been around a long time, and all over the internet. They are good! Don't fall for it. Don't let anybody remotely connect to your computer! Just hang up. Had a bit of fun making them hold, playing dumb, and making them give me "proof" of address, phone#, IP address, license#, etc. ALL LIES! Just reported to the FTC, the REAL Microsoft, the national DNC list, and the state Attorney General. Sadly, it was most likely a waste of my time--and won't help anyone from falling victim to these skeezer-scammers. Oh well, did what I could with it... CallerID showed: 877-696-7786 callback# given: 315-370-7608 website: www.support31.us
Got a call from 315-370-7608 and answered only because I have applied for many jobs and thought this was a call from one of the applications. Caller was a person with heavy accent claiming to be from Microsoft and stating that Windows 10 didn't load properly on my computer and wanted me to click on some items on the PC. I hung up on him and within seconds he called back and asked why I hung up on him. I told him that I thought he was a XXXX liar, was not from Microsoft but however if he was from Microsoft that I did not want Windows 10 installed on my computer if I had to deal with idiots like him. Then thanks to VONAGE. I went to their site and blocked the caller with one click. Love this VONAGE service
I get these calls all the time too. I have an answering machine that I let pick up the calls. If they don't leave a message then they don't get answered or called back. I get all kinds of prefixes calling me... A 210, 315, 877, 856, ect. I do *69 to figure out who is calling me.. I also have my home phone and cell phone on a do not call list. All I can think of is to go online to the attorney generals web site and make a complaint with info of the number and who they say they are and w hat you think they are (scammers)
Just received this call from a man with thick accent pretending to be Microsoft employee although caller id said the call was from Auburn, NY 315-370-7608 and Microsoft is based here in WA state. Asked him to explain what specifically was being sent to their server and he was unable to give me more explanation, wanted me to run a program. I hung up immediately and notified Windows and FTC. Please do not fall for this scam. Windows would never make a call like this.
Just got a call from 315-370-7608, "Robert Johnson" on caller ID. Thick foreign accent. Claimed to be from "Windows" calling about my computer. I laughed right into the phone, told him where he could stick it, and hung up. Immediately got another call from "Private name / Private number." Didn't answer.
Caller with a heavy foreign accent telephoned with a caller ID of Robert Johnson, 315-370-1608. Called to tell me that my computer had a virus and wanted access to treat it. I told him he had a wrong number and hung up.
