You are right all above bu8t the callers are all working for weslake and are all doing what they need to do to scare tactic us all. What they need to realize is i went to an attorney and they are al;l above agaisnt the law. If they kkep it up and the phone harrassement keeps going we all have a big law suite onthem and we can all have a free vehicle by them The joke will be on them HAHAHA. Keep track of all calls where when and whom get all numbers used. I guarentee they all link to weslake and they will be in trouble. It only takes one time to tell them NOT TO CALL YOU at home , work and ect. any number. And legally they cant. there is the mail then its in writing.
I got a call from this number 2 days ago. I didn't pick up but I got a voicemail. When I listened to it it played a random song in spanish and played for 2 minutes straight. I got tired of it and deleted the message. I received another call from the same number about 3 minutes ago and when I picked up AGAIN music was playing, but this time it just sounded like a man singing without any instruments, he paused said something I didn't understand, then started making shouting sounds so I hung up. I called back and turns out it is West Lake Financial. Strangely enough, I don't have any loans whatsoever.
I guess this is Westlake's Pattern in this business of debt collection. I too have a loan with them and after getting behind they now not only call me every day but they call everyone on my reference list on a daily basis despite the loan being caught up. I have repeatedly requested that they cease and desist all contact with anyone other than myself but those requests have gone ignored. Recently, I have started receiving calls from Westlake for a loan on a vehicle other than mine. I do not know who owns the vehicle or how my contact information came to be associated with that loan.
They have also discussed my account with my references which is clearly inappropriate under the FDCPA. In some respects, I believe there are always going to be companies out there that push the limits of the FDCPA. However, as the economic times continue to deterioriate, I cannot help but wonder if the practices of collection agencies will continue to deterioriate. I hope that is not what happens ultimately but fear it will be.
I don't know why they would change your payment due date but I know in lending payment due dates are generally set ... and sometimes offered to be extended out .... becauase they benefit the lender. If it's not benefitting them, I can assure you they're not going to spend their time doing it unless you put them betwewn a rock and a hard place. You have to make it happen for yourself if you need it.
