The number could be from anywhere in the world! Yes, the 'computer Tech' guys really try hard to speak with an American accent and use a typical 'American' name. I've been called numerous times over the years and had played my own games with 'Alex'...who got very mad when I told him I would not turn my computer over to him. I hung up when the swearing started. He called me back....twice. Last time I said I'd called the FBI.or FTC. He hung up. Two week after that, "Alex" called again. I reminded that I'd called the FBI, all my calls are now recorded. It's been almost a year. And so the scams start again with a new batch of idiots
Guy called with accent says he is working for computer support for microsoft windows xp 7 and he is at 90 broad stree new york. He wanted to run the event viewer command on my windows computer (evntvwr) to show me the errors which were affecting "70% of my computer" and if I did not do anything about it it would "stop all of my applications on my computer" I played along to see what he was trying to do for a little while and asked why he was calling and exactly what he was trying to do. He said it was his duty as a computer technician for microsoft to fix my computer. I laughed and asked what branch he was working for at windows and he just kept saying he works for Microsoft Windows 7 XP. I told him that is a software version not a branch, scolded him for trying to scam me an hung up the phone.
Got a call from this on 6/07/2016. A guy with a strong Indian accent said he was calling about a virus on my computer. Really?????? I hung up the telephone. SCAM ALEART !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Call from person (male) with strong accent. Sounded like same person that tried a scam call about IRS SCAM in January. This time he wanted to talk to person using the computer in the home that was showing an error to Microsoft. With call ID I checked his number on my second phone and found the number had no listing in the New York area. Then told him what I found and just laughed/scorned him and he hung up !
This number just called. Left no message. And I have had these other two numbers call today also 830 201 1242 and 214 236 5506. Calls always seems to come in at least with another number. They are calling my cell. Thank you everyone for posting
