The number could be from anywhere in the world! Yes, the 'computer Tech' guys really try hard to speak with an American accent and use a typical 'American' name. I've been called numerous times over the years and had played my own games with 'Alex'...who got very mad when I told him I would not turn my computer over to him. I hung up when the swearing started. He called me back....twice. Last time I said I'd called the FBI.or FTC. He hung up. Two week after that, "Alex" called again. I reminded that I'd called the FBI, all my calls are now recorded. It's been almost a year. And so the scams start again with a new batch of idiots
I got a call from these [***] on 7-5-16 @ 6:18pm. I was home but didn't answer. Let my machine get it and they left no message. I don't answer calls from outside my area code! Period! Unless I know it of course. According to above entries, glad I didn't!
Got a call today from +1 (347) 043-7867. A female with strong Indian accent told me that she is from Microsoft trying to help me with my laptop issues. I did have a recent problem - could not upgrade from Windows 8 to 10, initially I though that this call may be legit. She tried to convince me to go to www.showmypc.com and share my computer screen. At this point it was obvious that it is a scam, I hung up.
This jerk called ywice, saying my computer was interfering with the network, I played along, kept him on hold, never turned on my computer, telling him I did, he called twice hung up both times. Never turn on your computer or do anything anyone says unless it's someone you know like Norton, ect. and you called them. This jerk kept giving me the same answers no matter what I said. also name not found on my caller ID always sends up a red flag.
