Just got a call from this # about my commuter has a virus, that's funny cause I don't own a computer, I use my phone for all my internet needs!!! Total Scammers NEVER give anyone your info over the phone like that, a ligit company doesn't do that so please don't give anyone access to your computer!!
Just got second call from these people with heavy Middle East accident saying my computer is being hacked by some very bad people. He wanted me. To go to my computer and enter in information for him. I told him no, he said he was calling from windows and I said it said private on my phone. I request his phone number and hung up on him. My internet provider said my account is secure, be careful if you get this call.
The caller represented himself (through a heavy accent) as being from Microsoft (or Intel) and said my computer was sending out viruses. I actually got a call from the same person several months ago saying the same thing. Previously, I just cussed the guy out. This time I asked for a phone number to call back and he gave me the 347-227-6900 number. With a little research on the internet, I see that many people are reporting this scammer. Called most recently on 1/22/2014
Got calls several days in a row. Company name was supposedly PC Service & Repair in Brooklyn. The person said his name was Steve Smith although he had a very thick accent (my guess is he was from Bangladesh). He also gave me a website www.pcservivenrepair.com and phone number 347-227-6900 ext. 137.
When I said that I had a difficult time believing that he was calling from a legitimate business he hung up, which of course proves nothing.
I also just recieved a call from a Ron Vay of number 347-227-6900 saying he was from PC Cares on behalf of Windows OS. He managed to get access to my computer with false information, telling me there was a problem with all the pc's that had windows 8. I hope that this won't happen to someone in the future once reading about these experiences from others and myself included.
Just got a call from Window Cares - Caller ID showed 213-227-6900. Woman with a heavy indian Accent said my computer was hacked. I told her it was not a good time & to give me her # to call back. She advised 347-227-6900. When asking why Windows customer service didn't give an 800 # she claimed it was legit. Again I asked for an 800 # at which time she hung up on me
