i got a call from the same number Mr John said we are receiving error and warning from your computer i did't
believe him but when he said let me show once ,then you would be able to believe me ,, i thought lets see
them he show me each and everything which he was talking about and then he fixed my computer ,,and he told his company name so they are good ,,

Said they are affiliated with Microsoft, which they are not
They want you to hit Windows Hot Key and R. (Do not do it.) This gets you to the Run Command prompt where they will compromise your PC.
They are still at it. I got a call form them today and they said that they were with Microsoft and that there over 9,000 errors and warnings on my computer. Well I told Paul that my software didn't show any errors and that I also had protection with AVG and it doesn't show any problems either. He really got upset with me and tried to convince me that there were errors on my computer. He said that it would finally crash from all of the junk on my computer. He finally put his Super. on the phone and he wanted to make me this fantastic deal that would fix my computer and even speed it up. the deal was $113.00 for 1 year or $220.00 for 3 years. I told him I couldn't do it and he said that I could use my credit card and charge it. NO way I told him. He then tried to convince me that it was a secure website. Again I said NO and he finally said that they would call back later. I hope they do, now that I have checked them out. I'll record the conversation and send it to the BBB and I will also make a copy of all of the other reports on this site. Thanks for all the replies and reports.
Bill, you also can file reports with the DNC,FTC & FCC. The BBB is ok, but the feds have more teeth although slower. Most of these creeps are in foreign country's though. So you get red tape, Not to mention that most of the numbers are spoofed as well.
Had the same type of call not long ago and as I was aware of the scam i was ready for them, just wasted their time asking nonsensical questions and finally revealed to them i run Linux. "Pete" got VERY uset with me and i enjoyed laughing at him. :)
