I received several calls from several different numbers - refused to answer after I found out about the scam - now they somehow have my work number and have started to call there - same thing..they call from a 0000 number and leave a different to call back and use the name of neil mckenzie - as well as many other names.. this has been going on for months!!! Also Indian - same threats---what do we do...
I received a call and voicemail from this number, indicating that I took out a pay day loan online, and never made a payment, and that legal action had been taken against me and I was going to be summoned into court. I returned the call, and the person that answered the phone had an Indian/Middle Easter accent, and said her name was, "Danny Dawn". She said she was from the egal department of Advanced Cash, USA. They told me I applied for a pay day loan online with a company called, "Advanced Cash, USA, and I never paid them back, "and that I tried to run of with their money". When I asked when was the money deposited into my account so I can trace it, they couldn't tell me the date -- only the month and year, but no specific date the funds were deposited. After going back and forth, she gave me a number to Advanced Cash, USA, which is supposed to be located in Agoura Hills -- and they are located in New York. When I called that number, a guy named "Julian Marshall", answered the phone with the same type of accent as the other caller. He said I took out a loan in July of 2008, which is different from what the other caller said. He wasn't able to provide me with an exact date the loan was deposited into my account either. However, no deposits were made in my account in November of July for the amount they stated, which was $300. Then they proceeded to tell me, it could of been for $290 or $329, or something like that! After trying to get answers and catching them in lies, they were rude, cursing, and repeatedly hung up the phone in my face. I kept calling the two difference phone numbers back to back, and all I got was their voicemail. When I listed to both the legal department, and the company voicemails, I realized their extensions were similar -- they are in the same office! They also wouldn't provide me with a physical address to the company, or a P.O. Box. They said if I wanted to make a payment, they will send paperwork to my home and I could only pay by debit/credit card. They wouldn't provide me with their company ID number either. This company is scamming innocent people from money. This company obtained my information from something I was filling out online, and tried to manipulate me in believing I took out a loan, that was deposited into my checking account and never paid it back. They were asking for $540, but said I owed them $2100. They also try to scare me in to paying them, by saying they were taking me to court. When I asked which court, they couldn't give me the name of the court, or location, or a case number.
All I'm saying is be leary of calls like this. If something doesn't right, it probably isnt.
I received the same message except they said their name was Investigator James Wilson, said that I owed money from an online payday loan they have my social security number. I have never taken out a payday loan. When I asked who they worked for they told me Osama Bin Laden. They later told me that Osama would fly over my house and drop a bullet in it. I have tried to get them to answer my questions regarding how they got my social, name and number. It's a scam, I just wonder how many people have fallen for this. I have called them back every 10 minutes today the more time they are on the phone with me it's one less phone call they are making to someone else. Beware!
i received a call from this number with the same crap that SUNSHINE got and his name was Danny Vann they tell me. i told them they should get a real job and stop bothering us hard working folks and trying to scam money out of us. he proceeded to tell me he was not a scam and he himself would arrest me at work. all i could do was laugh. he would not tell me what state i lived in or what court i was to show up at. BUMS!SCAMMERS! Irrate me to no end. Sunshine you have a good idea about calling them back every 10 min. i shall do the same!
