Had a call like everyone else. K, I have never come across a person from India on the phone (Lord knows that is all we get now a days) with a common name like ours. That was my first red flag. I got to the point where the tech was going to take control of my computer and stopped them there.
Got a call from someone with a foreign accent saying they were Microsoft . They said Microsoft reported to them than my computer had hacking software and wanted me to run a programe "eventvwr" I Did not and contacted Microsoft , then found out it was a scam.
Same thing happened to me claimed my computer was hacked. Indian accent told me he was from Microsoft support called pc support & his name was Max William. Funny thing was he couldn't even say his name correctly. Heard lots of talking in background. When I questioned him on what info he had on me he got very frustrated. I refused to give him my name & said he had the wrong info. Take me off your list. Big scam- very pushy!
Guy with Indian accent called and said my computer was being hacked into and he would help me fix it. Said he was from Microsoft He gave his name as Bicky at the above number. when I called the number twice while I had him on hold a guy name allen or alex answered and got very nasty with me when I challenged him and said there is nothing wrong with your computer and
hung up. THIS IS A SCAM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Same story- though it was Mr. James Ford. Same phone number. He got upset when I said I would be phoning the police. Seems I was not very grateful to someone who was just trying to help.
I received a call on July 21, 2013. Gave too much info. I am going to call police. Said his name was Rickie Shaw from PC Support. 3 different people spoke to me. They wanted me to pay them $300 to fix my computer. I said no.
