Had a call like everyone else. K, I have never come across a person from India on the phone (Lord knows that is all we get now a days) with a common name like ours. That was my first red flag. I got to the point where the tech was going to take control of my computer and stopped them there.
I just spoke with a man who had a distinctive accent, my guess Jamaican, who spoke quickly and told that his company, C.C. Support Personnel was only trying to help save my computer. I was as rude to the man as possible and demanded to speak to his supervisor. Thinking quickly, he said he was the supervisor and that is name was Kevin.
He told me that the supplier of my computer should have warned me that every Windows equipped computer in the world is tied to an AUTO SERVICE SYSTEM. This system, he said, monitors all computer functions and sends them a central storage bank, at his company. We never got around to the fee for service as I hung up on him, threatening to call the FBI.
This is exactly what they told me I had an indian woman tell me that her name was Jenny Johnson... they called at 8:10am how dare they wake my household for some crap like that!
Just got a call from the Indian guy. He said he called from P.C. Support for Windows and all the rest of the things about my computer getting hacked. I asked him why he called so late (10 pm), he avoided giving an answer and asked if I would like him to call back in the morning. I asked him how he knew about the condition of my computer, he said a bunch of things, but frankly, his accent was so thick I couldn't understand him. He gave his name as Marvin Wilson (I thought that was curious but tried to have an open mind with people's names) and gave me this phone number. The call display showed 604-687-5888 which I called and all I got was a constant dial tone. I'm not very computer savvy and am glad I found all this info about this scam. Thank you all.
I just received my second call from an east Indian woman( the first call was from an east Indian man) asking me to turn on my computer so she could help me fix issues that my compuer is having. She also gave me the phone number 1-347-480-2300 to call to verify her authenticty. I said no way and hung up on her
Man with indian accent said windows had been receiving messages from my computer. Showed me all errors on my computer(28000) said he would help me fix. I asked for a number to call him back and received this number SCAM
