Who called from 3474802300

Received a call from a guy at this number ... said his name is James Ford, but had a heavy East Indian accent.  Said my computer has been under attack by hackers and he represents the Microsoft software developer and can help me through the process of protecting my computer if I go to my computer and follow his instructions..  But he was not very happy when I said  I wanted to check with Microsoft before doing ANYTHING he recommends.  Said with millions of users, it is impossible that Microsoft would be aware of all the software servicing companies out there and would be unable to verify. Sounds like a scam  to me.

My mom was taken in by these guys last night. Called her and told her all the same things (your system is in jeopardy, let her believe it was Microsoft, etc). They had a bunch of personal info and guessed some things correctly, I think. It scared her that something was wrong with her new laptop and paid them the $372 to "fix" everything. I was so sad that she fell for it, but the guy was really convincing. So having talked to the RCMP today we are pursuing getting her money back (I know, good luck) and contacting the Federal Trade Commission. This really had them panic a bit when I told them that today. My guess is she is out the money, but we will try. I can't believe how evil some people are.

I have also received this kind of call from a man with a indian accent, received the first one on 8/8, the 2nd one on 8/9. He also stated he was with P.C. Support and that he had been notified by Microsoft since I had received some Error Reports. I asked how he had gotten my personal phone number and he stated that he got it when I was online and that he gotten it thru where my computer is registered, so he wanted myself to go on my computer to verify my registration number with the one he had. That is nasty!!! It is the same number as I have seen here, 1-347-480-2300. He stated that he wanted to call me back again today, 8/10 and I said forget it, that is when I asked him for his name and company and phone number, which he did give to myself. He said his name was Charlie Brown, had to laugh, since when does someone with a Indian accent have a name like that?? Helso said, when I asked, that he was calling from Brooklyn, N.Y. I have reported this to my ISP and to [email protected]  Hope I can get rid of this idiot!! He is the hacker as far as I am concerned.

Got the same call from Ricky Shaw at this number. Every question I asked, I was accused of not listening and I was rudely talked over. Indian accent too.

Same thing and person. My wife and I played along but said we had to leave. Asked him to call back tommorrow. Going to be rude and play around and say some names I shouldn't. Will be fun.  O ya called rcmp. It is definantly a scam
