Called twice, said Windows Tech Support. There's about a 2 second delay between conversation. Calls are definitely outside the US. You can hear its a phone room. Said the computer had been sending error reports to them for the last week and he wanted to remote my computer. I played stupid and he finally hung up.
Caller ID showed "Windows Support", so I knew immediately it was a scam. Answered the call, he said "windows support" and my standard answer is "We run Macs". He pressed further and I repeated again, We Run Macs, why are you calling. I figure the longer he's on the line with me, the less calls he can make to harass you folks.
Received a call from this number saying he was from Microsoft and they had detected that my computer had a virus. He wanted me to go on-line and delete some files. I told him that I had to verify the call and would call back if legitimate. He told me to call a different number, 845-241-1234, and ask for Brian William. Total scam. Did not call back.
I have received several calls from this man today(4/16/2014). I called Microsoft and the call is not from them. I also called The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) and reported him. You need to do the same. Here is the FTC # 1-877-382-4357...
