States they are the irs. Does not identify the person they are calling for. States, "this is a notice that the irs is filing a law suit against you. Call 360-200-6820. No written notice was ever sent from the irs prior to threat call. Automated message.
recieved a call yesterday 8/31/15 from a phone number 1-360-200-6820 and said we owe $4,000 from defraud taxes. The man gave his badge number of IRM2512091. Is this a scam call ???

Called with automated message saying there was a pending lawsuit against me and to call the number back. I called back twice both times I spoke to a person with a thick foreign accent. I asked them to spell their name and for their badge number they gave a bogus name and hung up when I asked for their badge number. THIS IS A SCAM DO NOT CALL BACK AND DO NOT GIVE INFORMATION.
Received the call today (9/1/2015) at 12:36 Central Time leaving the message that others have described. It's infuriating that most of us likely dropped everything and starting researching. It's a simple waste of time for me, but someone without technology resources could easily be ripped off. As someone asked above, is there an appropriate place to report these people so they can be shut down and hopefully sent to jail?
