same 'irs' lawsuit filed against us nonsense. I called back twice and when I asked questions about their BS hung up on me (twice). Anyone know a way to track it back to who the number is owned by and call local police? Is that even an option. Clearly a scam, and targeting elderly.
Received the same call. When I called back the phone number was busy after my 5th call a man with a very heavy accent answered and asked for my phone number and what the message I received was. I then hung up after he did not have any answers as to why he was calling.
Received the same call. When I called back the phone number was busy after my 5th call a man with a very heavy accent answered and asked for my phone number and what the message I received was. He said I owed $2,256.71 for a miscalculation between 2008-2013 He said I needed to make the payment through Money Gram at the store. I said what is your name. Officer Peter Corover He said, "are you serious you want to resolve this issue." "yes," I said. This is very much a scam. Then, he got his supervisor on the phone. The supervisor told me to drive to my bank and withdraw then, he will stay on the phone with me while I withdraw the money, and once the line is disconnected he will send an officer to arrest me in a couple of hours. The supervisors name is "senior officer Jack Williams" and he is located in Washington D.C. As soon as I told him I was going to report him he ended our conversation.
