I have gotten several calls from this number. I never answered but after reading some of the comments I decided to give them a call back and have some fun. It took less than 30 seconds for the guy to start swearing making us most valiant attempt at combining different offensive terms lol! I have a tweak on my iPhone that allows me to record my phone calls and I have to say too bad we can post recordings here. Y'all would have a blast playing the conversation over and over again!
Caller: Scam about a U.S. Government Agency
Male with a strong accent answered the phone, scratchy voice reading a very long script... said I was approved for a grant for $8,000 from the U.S. Government Agency. Told him to remove my number from their list and he hung up.
got several calls from this place. I blocked them all but went back through this one and others and called to see if I could get them to take my name and number off the list.
They explained I had 8,000 free grant money and all they needed was my name and zip code to verify it so I gave that to them. When they wanted my bank acct. number to deposit the monies into the account I said no, I would take a check to my home address. Then the lady with very bad English said I could put it into a credit card account which I agreed to do. She gave me a couple of numbers to write down and said her manager Matthew Plummer would call and talk to me and would ask for those numbers. Once all that was complete, I am not sure what the next step was. She hung up immediately afterwards. The number is still blocked on my cell so am hoping someone takes these scammers off and put me on a do not call registry. Whatever happened to that??
I get this call all the time from multiple numbers, I love this site so I report every call I ever get.
This time it was a woman who sounded of Indian nationality. She told me her name was Kim, and that she was calling from the United State (not even an "s" at the end) Government about an $8,000 grant I was picked for because I "pay my taxes, haven't filed bankruptcy, and that I pay my bills". I played a long said okay cool, she asks if Alitta is my name I say yes, she asks if I live in a certain town with zip included I say yes. Then she says "I have your age on file here can you please verify it" I tell her an outlandish age and she says okay that looks right. She tells me I can get this money either by cash, credit card, or bank draft. I said well, if you have all that information on me, just send an invoice to my home please. Sounding disgruntled she says "what was that". I repeat that and she then proceeds to say "f... you" and hangs up.
I get calls from them all the time, but never answer, this time I did and when I said sorry I don't need it, he called me fn biotch. Wish someone could do something with these idiots
