I forgot to say that the call originated from 724-596-6594. And I was told to call 202-864-1229 by a recording of a lady's voice. (Possibly computerized)
Me too, same thing, on a voice mail on 3/6/15. It said, "this is your final notice," but it was the first time. It didn't address me by name, so how do we even know *who* is being sued?
CALLED ME FROM 726-599-6584, AUTOMATED MESSAGE SAYING "THIS IS YOUR FINAL NOTIFICATION. THE IRS IS FILING A LAW SUIT AGAINST YOU. FOR MORE INFORMATION, CALL 360-214-2607)"
I CALLED AND SOME INDIAN GUY ANSWERED AND I SAID "YES, THIS IS SPECIAL AGENT KEITH CALLING WITH THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATIONS. LET ME SPEAK WITH YOUR SUPERVISOR." -- THE GUY SAID "I AM THE SUPERVISOR" -- I SAID "GOOD, WELL WE'VE BEEN RECEIVING REPORTS THAT THIS COMPANY IS HARASSING U.S. CITIZENS WITH FALSE LAW SUITS, PRETENDING TO BE THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE, LET'S SET-UP AN APPOINTMENT WHERE YOU CAN COME DOWN TO OUR LOCAL OFFICE AND SPEAK ABOUT THIS. OR, IF YOU'D PREFER, I CAN SEND FIELD AGENTS TO COME PICK YOU UP. WHICH WOULD YOU LIKE?" -- THE GUY SAID ".... GO F**K YOURSELF" IN A SUPER THICK MIDDLE EASTERN/INDIAN ACCENT.
THAT'S WHEN I WENT OFF ON THE GUY, AND USED EVERY DEROGATORY TERM I COULD REMEMBER FOR MIDDLE-EASTERN/INDIAN PEOPLE. AFTER MY LONG WINDED HATEFUL SHPEAL, HE SAID "GO F**K YOURSELF" AGAIN. AFTER THAT, I TOLD HIM I'M SENDING AGENTS TO COME ARREST HIS TERRORIST-a*s AND HE BETTER PRAY HE'S GOT A GOOD LAWYER.
HE THEN HUNG UP ON ME, AND BLOCKED MY NUMBER. I CAN NO LONGER CALL BACK, IT JUST RINGS HALF OF ONE TIME THEN SWITCHES TO A RAPID BUSY SIGNAL. BAHAHAHAHA.
Got a call and an automated voice message this afternoon from a 360 area code. Didn't state who was calling, but informing me there was a fraud alert against my name and SS#, and to prevent further problems to call immediately. I called the number back and an East Indian sounding man answered claiming to be with the IRS, immediately asking for the last 4 of my SS#. When I informed the man that I don't give out personal information over the phone, he became belligerent and caught an attitude; asking why I'm calling him if I'm not willing to provide him with the information to help me with. I also told him that I would wait for a notice thru the mail from the IRS and he tried to sound official by saying he was officer Frank. What worried me at the moment was that he cited my name and asked if that was me. At that point I just hung up. This is definitely a scam and he probably got my name off the caller ID. Don't even bother returning the call if you receive a similar call or voice message. From my experience, the IRS or any branch of government will send you an official notice thru the mail.
