I forgot to say that the call originated from 724-596-6594. And I was told to call 202-864-1229 by a recording of a lady's voice. (Possibly computerized)
I received this call today. I did not return the call since I did not feel I had any negative issues with the IRS. The call came from 722-594-6554. I was instructed to call 360-214-3607 also. Same scam voice mail - Final Notice- IRS lawsuit - open case file. I am glad I looked up the phone number on the internet too. All your posts were helpful. I called the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration per the IRS website.
Thank you for all of your posts as well. And thank you for the info on the IRS website. I am also going to contact my local news channel to notify people on their troubleshooter segment. Additionally, I just got a Federal Student loan for my daughter, file my taxes every year and usually get a refund. I am pretty sure the IRS knows where to find me if they needed to. I was told to call the same 360-214-3607 but my caller ID showed 329-339-0000 Name Unavailable.
I received a voice message from this number saying that the IRS was going to sue me. I called the number back and verified it with the man that answered the phone. After he validated the number, I told him I was reporting him and his scam to the FBI. He quickly hung up... Let's give them something to think about!!!
