They called me too - NO ID who they were - only that they knew I had a Toyota Rav 4 and 'wanted to talk to me about it' ... and when I asked - "Who are you and how do you have this information?" CLICK - they hung up.
Called and hung up (so it has the earmarks of a scammer). Seems like the scammers are in the process of changing out the call numbers again ... we have had a quiet phone for a week, and usually that means that the criminals are just setting up to send out calls from a whole NEW series of numbers. We have had thousands of calls from such folks over the years ... and the ability to block numbers only slows down the flow slightly. Car warranties, security systems, carpet and duct cleaning AND credit card scams ALL seem to be run by the same ring of thieves. Hope that some day they get what they deserve!
360-229-7744, 11:03 am , Apr 22. Called me and said they were from the Auto Processing Department and wanted to know mileage on my car. They had my name, telno and make and model of my car. When I asked who they were and why they wanted to know, they repeated they were from the Auto Processing Department. When pressed again, they hung up.
When I looked online, there were several people who received calls from the "Auto Processing Department." Looks like a scam. Not sure what it is. They have my info. Not good.
These folks ARE SCAMMERS. Have been running this scam for years ... and they always tend to switch numbers (and names). They are one of the few scamming groups, that have some real information .... but beyond that, everything they say is a lie, and an attempt to steal your $$$$.
