Recieved a call about a Windstar. He told me that my extended warrenty ran out in 2007. Told him that I do not own that vehicle. He hung up but was very rude.
07 - May 2013 @ 1345 hours, 360-229-7744, caller id "Shelton Washington". Same persons noting that I had not extended my warranty on my 2006 Chrysler 300. The "Auto Processing Department" were requesting to know the current milage. As noted, they evidently had my phone number and vehicle details. With that information then they should know my name and address also. My worry was that maybe they were "shopping" for low milage older vehicles to steal for used parts. Wither way, I'm sure it's a scam of some sort.
Strange how all was "quiet" until yesterday when the credit card people called with their "final" offer, and now today these characters call.
Got a call from a woman claiming to be from "Toyota Auto Parts Department"; she knew which model/year of car I owned. When I asked her why she was making a sales call to a do-not-call number, she replied "If this is a do-not-call number, how come I am talking to you. Idiot."
Called Toyota and they confirmed that this number is not associated with any of their dealers or facilities.
Filed an online complaint with the Washington State Attorney General, since the call appears to originate from Shelton, WA, although that is almost certainly a spoofed number. I would encourage people to file with their state attorney generals so that when these scammers are eventually caught, there is a documented history of abuse that the prosecutors can use.
That's funny. I just got a call from this number, answered it, dead air... Said "Hello" loudly a couple of times then the line opened and I could hear a busy call center in the background - still no answer - BUT, one of the voices I could hear in the background... "can you hear me?" "Can you hear me?"
Received a call from this number on my cell phone. I said Hello a couple of times and waited a few seconds after each. Dead air. Didn't wait any longer and hung up.
