Caller immediately hung up when I answered. I called the number from my cell phone, and it immediately went to a voice mail message that said, "Thank you for calling back." If you are not interested in our promotions and wish to be put on our 'do-not-call list', please press 1 now..."
I never oblige these message requests with a response. I want them to think that I dialed a wrong number, thus not confirming their initial call to me. That would give them both my cell# and my landline# that they originally called.
My service provides a 'black list' it has 50 slots and it is now full of the same 'credit card service' telemarketing scam numbers. For the life of me, I cannot understand why anyone would have business dealings with them. The language barrier alone would be a red flag. They change the number and I can get 3-5 calls a day with same message but different numbers. Today it was Marysville, WA #360-322-6687. I had one caller that had spoofed my number and the caller id was 'Wireless Caller' and my number, on my land line. I have tried all type of tactics hoping they would drop me from the 'list'. Everything from trying to get a point of contact to telling them I don't have credit cards. One thing is for sure, they have and emergency hang up button. If you breath wrong you get an instant dial tone. Amazing. This seems to be chronic problem, what is the solution? I have been refreshing my black list on a rotation for 2 or more years. I had a problem with one caller, rude telemarketer, calling me late at night (after 9 pm) I discovered who was the CEO and broadcast the contact info and suggested an eye for an eye. I am thinking that company had a made a lot of people angry. After a awhile I did not hear from them anymore. Funny thing, they changed the phone numbers. Good Luck!
