Same message, with an automated voice claiming they were the IRS and that this was my last chance, that the IRS is filing a law suit against me & to call immediately, no name given for who it was or who they were looking for. I knew it was a scam but decided to call back to see what they would say. When I called the number back, they answered in person on the very first ring (which is the biggest clue that this is a scam!), had a very thick foreign accent, and claimed to be the IRS. I just hung up. I don't have the time or the energy to deal with these losers. Should be in jail for pulling this nonsense and impersonating a government official to extort money from people. Pretty low.
received the same call from the same number, also wanted me to call them back but did not ask for a specific person, only stating "consider this a final notice the the IRS is filing a lawsuit against you." Scam.
Got a call from them this morning and when I return their call. The woman said her name was Michelle Olson ID #SA7150.
That there is an arrest warrant for my arrest to take me to jail because I own back taxes for 2008 thru 2013, that I own $4,000. Am I going to paid or do I want to go to court. Everybody knows that the IRS does not wait for there money 7 years and never try getting in touch with the person. I asked this lady if I owed this money why wait 7 years without sending me a letter they did it before. She tells me that they sent it to an address that I havent live there in 10 years. My replied was if you are the IRS then you know where I live now because I filed taxes this year. She got so mad with me that she started yelling WELL, SINCE YOU DONT WANT TO PAID WE WILL COME ARREST YOU, then she hung up on me. The IRS does not make threats and they do scream at you. There is no such thing as not paying the IRS. They will just granish our entire check
I was informed by the "IRS" that this was a final warning, (I never recieved any prior warning) but I could avoid going to court by entering into a "payment plan". I was told that if I did not comply with this plan that there would by a warrent issued on me and I would lose my drivers licence, income, property, ect. I told the person the phone that I had to talk with someone at HR Block. The caller left me with the impresion that if I hung up the phone,then the dicision would be made for me. I called HR Block, and the police dept. and found out for sure that it was in fact a scam! If the same thing happens to you, Do not give out any personal information!
