Same stupid message here in Orlando. These folks need to find another line of work instead of extortion.....Yes, the elderly would be very susceptible to this with an open checkbook. If everyone knows the number, why are these people still in business?
Also called my phone today from 360-450-0205. Automated message claiming to be IRS stating that I was being audited and to call them. I figured IRS would send a letter if this was factual and therefore looked it up finding this site with this data.
Got a call from this number at 8:43am. They left a ragged recorded message on my answering machine stating that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. Very funny. Whomever is behind this scam is an idiot with no knowledge of how the IRS operates.
If they call again I am going to enjoy wasting their time.
I got a phone message from (360) 450-0205 saying the IRS was going to file a lawsuit against me. I called this number back and talked supposedly to a guy named David Smith. He had a heavy accent, maybe Spanish. He gave me his employee number:907745 and gave me a case number: VS8511TX. and then sent me to his supervisor who had an Indian accent and said HIS name was David Wilkinson. The "supervisor" said that there had been miscalculation errors from 2008 - 2013 and the taxes we filed did not match and said we owed $3.000 that needed to be paid immediately. I told him that I could not pay (we have been strapped for money as we have been paying off our 2014 tax bill and still owe $800 to be paid within the next four months. I told him I could pay about $500 and he said that would hold off the arresting officer for three hours, otherwise the officer would come in an hour. The "supervisor" told me to go to the nearest Walmart and to get an IRM transfer form, and he wanted me to stay on the line all the way to Walmart and the bank machine there. i don't know exactly how to attach my phone charger so I told him I couldn't do that and then I called my husband who looked up the (360) 450-0205 number online and found that this was a scam. Reading this over, I can't believe i believed these guys! The 360 area code, the foreign accents and how they didn't coincide with the names, going to WALMART of all places for a money transfer. Crazy.
Like kids playing cops and robbers but for real money.
yesterday I received the same call from area code 206-801-1884. today I received the same call from area code 360-450-0205. these were both voice mails as I do not answer calls from numbers I do not recognize. the voice mail today was scrambled but I could understand it well enough to know it is the same call. there is a ring I think that reaches from florida to the philipines I believe.. these are criminals and surely can be apprehended.if the government knows everything about everybody it should not be rocket science to bring these people to the highest penalty under the law.
