On July 26, 2012, I got a call from this number. It registered on my caller ID as "Financial Ctr." I did not answer the phone. On today's date, August 15, 2012, I received another call from "Financial Ctr." except this time the number was 503-457-1407. I answered this call. The recording said that this is my final courtesy call to lower my credit card rate to 6%; all I need is $3,000 in credit card debt and one card in good standing. It also said they have tried to contact me several times and that this is my final call for my yearly credit card review.
The automated recording did not give a key to press to be removed from their list; It said "Press 1 if you are interested in lowering your credit card debt..." So I pressed 1 and got a woman who said "So i understand you are interested in lowering your credit card payments?" I said, "No, but I understand I want to be removed from your call list." Before I could finish my sentence, she hung up on me!
If you get a call from "Financial Ctr" on your caller ID, DO NOT ANSWER!
I have done this several times already and every time they hang up on me. How am I to get off this list!???
I finally called them back and had my number removed from their list now if they call i can report them what good does a do not call list do if they keep calling i am so sick of these calls , and If its a number I do not know I will answer.... Harry's Weiner Hut We Have the Biggest Weiners around, May I take your Order Now..... well needless to say the calls have all most stopped I was getting 3 or more a day. I judt about get tickled trying to say all that when I answer but it is worth it for them to just hang up or say .. ummmm. ummm I have got the wrong number I am sorry LMAO
Answered the call, pressed 1. When asked if I wanted to lower my credit card rates I said, "No, put me on your do not call list". The telemarketer hung up without saying anything.
Typical credit card scam. Filed an FTC complaint so there's a record but I don't expect anything. The scumbags are engaged in organized crime and the FBI, not FTC, should be arresting, fining, and incarcerating the scums.
Card Services or something like that. with a phony promotion... probably trying to get credit card numbers. When I engage the caller with a friendly "and your name is..." they quickly hang-up.
This is a scammer that works principally out of Washington state. Must be a group of criminals involved, because they're spread out and operate fairly sophisticatedly; they even have a legitimate looking "company name" that now shows up on my caller I.D. Seems the federal government, FBI, should be going after them because I suspect they are a large group of people who work around the clock to defraud people. I've gotten calls over and over -- from more than one city/state, though mainly from Washington -- from these creeps. They should die in jail.
