It's a scam. They hit you first with a recorded message about lowering your card interest rates. I got connected to some horribly unprofessional woman who was not only very, very intentionally vague on who she worked for, but ended up insulting me when I told her to remove me from the call list.
This was a credit "better interest rate" automated message that called my mobile phone. You are to press 1 to speak to a customer service representative. I pressed 1 to tell them that I was registered on the Do Not Call Registry and that they should not be calling me. The man rudely stated that he was registered to help people save mony by lowering interest rates. I told him not to call or I'd report them and they that there was a fine for violating the registry. He rudely said that I'd be paying him the money then. He told me that I shouldn't have pressed 1 then. I asked what his name was and he said "[***]." I told him I was reporting his company and ended the call. He was extremely rude and offensive.
